Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kenny Mccray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dmitry Shepelev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kenny Mccray has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenny Mccray!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dmitry Shepelev!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Taro Takaoka and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mccray clinches with his opponent.
The referee calls for Mccray to work.

Shepelev gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Mccray regains guard.
Mccray has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Mccray's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Mccray is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mccray tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Shepelev.
Shepelev wants to control but Mccray is keeping busy.

Mccray sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Shepelev wants to improve his position but Mccray is controlling well.

Mccray stands up and beckons Shepelev to join him on the feet.

Shepelev throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mccray tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Shepelev is in Mccray's guard.
Mccray is controlling Shepelev's posture.

Shepelev looking to sit in guard and control but Mccray gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Mccray would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Mccray really is a fat lump.
Shepelev wants to control but Mccray passes easily into half guard.
Mccray with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Shepelev is looking to control Mccray's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Shepelev avoid being mounted?

Mccray escapes and gets back to his feet.

Shepelev scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Mccray is holding Shepelev down, trying to stall.
Mccray is looking for a sweep.
Shepelev wants to stand but Mccray is controlling his arm.

Mccray tries to bench press Shepelev off him but Shepelev keeps the position.
Mccray is not content to let Shepelev control the position.

Shepelev is looking to take a break and control but Mccray is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

A close round but Dmitry Shepelev will probably get the nod.
That's time! Mccray's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Mccray gets tackled into the cage by Shepelev. Shepelev maintains the clinch.

Shepelev gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Mccray is holding on to half guard well.

Shepelev wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mccray keeps working.
Mccray moves into full guard.

Mccray looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Shepelev is looking to stand up but Mccray won't let him.
Mccray looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Shepelev wants to control from the top but Mccray keeps moving.
Mccray pulls Shepelev in close to prevent any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Mccray closes the distance and pushes Shepelev back into the cage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Mccray breaks from the clinch.

Mccray gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Mccray is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Shepelev trying to control the position from guard on top but Mccray is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Shepelev stands and throws Mccray's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mccray tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Shepelev wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Mccray is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Shepelev is looking to take a break and control but Mccray is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Mccray is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Mccray has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Shepelev is working away from the top position though.
Mccray is refusing to be controlled, as Shepelev sits in half guard.

Shepelev is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Dmitry Shepelev has got the better of the ground game so far.
Mccray tries to hold on but Shepelev postures up.

Shepelev is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
A nice combination there by Shepelev.
Mccray throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Mccray moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromShepelev.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Mccray moves into the clinch successfully.
Knees in the clinch landing for Shepelev.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dmitry Shepelev showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Shepelev shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mccray's guard.
Mccray is striking off his back. Shepelev thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.
Shepelev wants to take a breather but Mccray is having none of it.
Mccray keeping hold of Shepelev's head, controlling as best he can.
Mccray throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Shepelev tries to pass to full mount but Mccray defends it.

Shepelev moves into full mount! Mccray won't be happy about that!
Shepelev fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Shepelev avoids the attempt from Mccray to control.
Mccray takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Shepelev wants to stand but Mccray is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.

Shepelev jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Mccray is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Mccray and Shepelev has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Mccray wants to control but Shepelev postures up.
Mccray is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Shepelev trying to control the action but Mccray is working from the bottom.
Mccray is looking for a sweep. Shepelev is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Shepelev is keen to just control but Mccray is a slippery customer.

Shepelev looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Mccray wants to control but Shepelev is keeping busy.

Shepelev seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mccray does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Shepelev looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Shepelev wants to take a breather but Mccray is having none of it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Mccray makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Mccray.

Dmitry Shepelev is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
