Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Lexxon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dan Harrison! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lexxon pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lexxon will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Harrison throws out a counter right but Lexxon avoids it with no problem. Harrison uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Lexxon has time to react. Lexxon fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Harrison avoids it really well and circles away. Harrison misses with a leg kick. Lexxon wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Harrison connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Harrison lands with a straight right. Lexxon didn't see that one coming. Harrison misses with a two punch combination.
Harrison blocks a head kick by Lexxon.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A left and a right from Harrison both land. Nice combination. Lexxon throws a right and a left that both miss. Dan Harrison seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. This has been an exciting period of action! Harrison lands with a kick to the ribs.
Lexxon wants to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harrison connects with an inside leg kick. The crowd cheers as Harrison lands an impressive looking overhand right. Lexxon doesn't seem phased though. Lexxon misses with a double jab.
Harrison connects with the punch. Harrison connects with a body shot that sends Lexxon's belly button to the back. Harrison cracks Lexxon with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Lexxon is breathing heavily. Harrison lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Lexxon tries to clinch up and Harrison cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Harrison lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lexxon moves into the clinch successfully.
Harrison breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lexxon tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Harrison paws at him with a jab and circles away. Harrison connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Harrison throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Lexxon crashing down! Lexxon tries to stagger back to his feet but Harrison just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Lexxon asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dan Harrison!
