Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Neal Brewer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Baldwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Neal Brewer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jimmy Baldwin! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Baldwin shoots in for a double leg but Brewer sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Brewer seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Baldwin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Brewer is fending him off so far but Baldwin persists. Nope, Brewer circles away and we're back to standing. Baldwin with a poor takedown and Brewer holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Neal Brewer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Baldwin. Brewer is trying to stall.

Brewer drives through with a takedown into guard. Baldwin pushes Brewer off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Baldwin shoots for a takedown but Brewer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Baldwin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brewer tries to avoid it but Baldwin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brewer to the ground. Brewer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Baldwin shoots in for a double leg but Brewer sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brewer dives in and scores a takedown into Baldwin's guard. Brewer throws a big elbow that misses. Brewer working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Brewer with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Baldwin is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Brewer landing with the ground and pound. Brewer slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Brewer wants to stand but Baldwin has a closed guard, so he can't escape. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Baldwin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Baldwin is looking to stand up but Brewer isn't so interested in that idea.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Baldwin gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Baldwin has Brewer pressed against the cage, preventing Brewer from circling away and getting back to striking at range. A frustrated look appears on Brewer's face as he tries to break the clinch. Baldwin prevents Brewer from breaking the clinch. Baldwin jumps guard and drags Brewer to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Brewer controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Brewer drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Baldwin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Brewer has Baldwin in his guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brewer tries to land a sweep but no joy. Brewer has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Baldwin trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brewer wants to sweep here but Baldwin controlling him for the moment. Baldwin postures up in Brewer's guard and throws a big left but Brewer blocks it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Baldwin decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Baldwin is trying hard to land a takedown here. Brewer sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Baldwin defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Brewer. Baldwin shoots and misses and Brewer counters with an inside leg kick. Baldwin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Baldwin wants it to stay on the feet. Baldwin has closed the distance and engaged Brewer in a clinch.
Baldwin keeps control of Brewer as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Brewer wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Brewer is trying to force a seperation but Baldwin has the dominant position. Brewer wants to get back to striking at distance but Baldwin won't allow it.
Baldwin tries to pull guard but Brewer holds him up against the cage and eventually Baldwin drops back down to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jimmy Baldwin will probably get the nod. That's time! Brewer's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Baldwin shoots in looking for a takedown. Brewer tries to sprawl out of it but Baldwin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Brewer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Baldwin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Brewer swivels and escapes. An inside leg kick lands from Baldwin. Jimmy Baldwin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice takedown defense from Brewer. No joy for Baldwin on that attempt. Neal Brewer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Baldwin. Baldwin thumps Brewer with a low kick. Brewer is looking to clinch but Baldwin is avoiding it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brewer slips a jab and a cross from Baldwin.
Baldwin takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Brewer works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Baldwin with a lazy takedown attempt and Brewer counters with a nice uppercut. Baldwin is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brewer shoots in for a takedown and gets it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brewer is working for a kimura but Baldwin is defending it quite comfortably.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Baldwin looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Brewer working for a choke but Baldwin is defending well. Brewer looking for the choke but no joy. Baldwin trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
That's three minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Baldwin's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Baldwin might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Brewer haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Brewer punishes Baldwin with strikes from the back mount. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Baldwin turns into Brewer and is now in his guard.

Baldwin pulls guard effortlessly. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Brewer's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Baldwin working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Brewer. Baldwin wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Baldwin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Baldwin looking for a sweep. Not yet Baldwin, not yet. Baldwin wants to hit a switch here but Brewer passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Baldwin there!
That's one minute gone in the round. Baldwin wants to control but Brewer is having none of it. Baldwin is looking to get to half guard. Baldwin wants to control but Brewer is having none of it. Brewer has control of Baldwin's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Baldwin regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Brewer will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Brewer is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Baldwin has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Baldwin! Brewer tries to land a sweep but no joy. Brewer is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Baldwin is controlling him. Baldwin stands and steps away. Brewer gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Brewer tries a head kick but it misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Brewer slaps away a takedown attempt from Baldwin, before circling back to the center of the mat. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Brewer is defended easily by Baldwin. Baldwin darts in looking for a takedown but Brewer gets double underhooks and turns Baldwin into the cage. Neal Brewer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Baldwin. Baldwin tries to land a front kick but Brewer steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Brewer slaps away a takedown attempt from Baldwin, before circling back to the center of the mat. Baldwin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Baldwin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Brewer counters with a nice uppercut. Neal Brewer is winning the standup battle so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brewer tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Baldwin defends well and Brewer ends up having to push Baldwin into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Baldwin drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Brewer defends it well. A punch combination from Baldwin misses. Brewer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Brewer shoots in and drives through. Baldwin sprawls well. Baldwin throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Brewer counters with a nice low kick that buckles Baldwin's knee momentarily. Baldwin fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Brewer tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Baldwin swivels and escapes. Baldwin drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Brewer defends it well. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Baldwin has a takedown stuffed. Brewer misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Neal Brewer. I think Brewer has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
