Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Forest Maynard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tristan De La Tour (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). De La Tour has chosen Evolution:Enter the New World as his entrance music. Forest Maynard has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Forest Maynard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tristan De La Tour!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maynard looks for a takedown but De La Tour sprawls well.
Maynard will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

De La Tour moves into the clinch.
De La Tour prevents a body shot from Maynard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Maynard stalls.
Maynard has De La Tour pressed against the cage, preventing De La Tour from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Maynard misses with a hook from the clinch.
De La Tour is struggling to control the position.
De La Tour wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

De La Tour wants to get back to striking at distance but Maynard won't allow it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
De La Tour stalls.
Maynard keeps the fight in the clinch, despite De La Tour's efforts to push away.
De La Tour wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

De La Tour pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Left hook, right uppercut from Maynard.

De La Tour closes the distance and clinches.

De La Tour throws the kick towards the body but Maynard avoids it.
Maynard shoots for a double leg takedown but De La Tour sprawls well. He's pushed Maynard's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
De La Tour lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Maynard throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around De La Tour's waist but De La Tour gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Maynard off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Forest Maynard. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Maynard keeps De La Tour at a distance using the push kick.
Maynard changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. De La Tour tries to avoid it but Maynard manages to keep hold of a leg and drag De La Tour to the ground. De La Tour escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

De La Tour shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. De La Tour showed some decent athleticism there.
Maynard pushes De La Tour off but De La Tour dives into side control.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

De La Tour decides to stand up, so the ref orders Maynard to his feet.
Maynard misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

De La Tour bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Tristan De La Tour will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Maynard throws a nice head kick!
Maynard looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
De La Tour throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Maynard enables De La Tour to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Maynard manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Maynard is working an open guard so De La Tour takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
De La Tour takes a kick to the side of the head.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Maynard is looking to work his way out of this bad position but De La Tour is controlling him well.
Maynard looks to move to half guard but instead De La Tour has passed into mount! Damn!

De La Tour takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Maynard really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
De La Tour's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
De La Tour is continuing to stall.

De La Tour has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
De La Tour trying to control but he's not successful this time.
De La Tour tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
De La Tour with more of the same as he continues to hold on.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Maynard wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

De La Tour can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Maynard is looking to escape.
Maynard sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. De La Tour lands a nice short elbow.

Maynard has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but De La Tour is on him like a limpet, forcing Maynard back against the cage.

De La Tour misses with a shot to the kidneys.

De La Tour has had enough of the clinch but Maynard keeps him there for the moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Tristan De La Tour showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Maynard tries to score a power double leg takedown but De La Tour sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Maynard somewhat.

De La Tour feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
De La Tour working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

De La Tour seems to be looking for submissions.
Maynard tries to roll over but De La Tour keeps him under control.

Maynard makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
De La Tour displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Maynard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Maynard controls De La Tour momentarily but De La Tour frees himself.

De La Tour shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Maynard's guard.

Maynard has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes De La Tour off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Forest Maynard is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Nice takedown defense from De La Tour. No joy for Maynard on that attempt.
Forest Maynard has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Tristan De La Tour is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
De La Tour avoids the head kick by Maynard.
De La Tour flicks out a counter leg kick but Maynard steps away.

Tristan De La Tour comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well De La Tour has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
