Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Deshawn Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duke Unken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duke Unken has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Deshawn Shaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Duke Unken!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Peter Branson and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Unken misses with an uppercut
and Shaw counters with a nice body shot.

Shaw closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Unken quickly recovers to half guard.
Shaw seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Unken does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Shaw decides to stand up.
Unken takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Unken connects with a looping right hand.
Unken misses with a looping right.
Horrible takedown attempt by Shaw or perhaps it was just good defense by Unken, which made it look bad.
Shaw throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Unken's waist but Unken gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shaw off to one side.
Unken waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Shaw.
Unken catches Shaw with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Shaw works over Unken's head and body with a nice combination.
Shaw will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Unken misses with a hook

so Shaw counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Unken looking to hit a scissor sweep but Shaw is one step ahead there.

Unken is looking to sweep but instead, Shaw has passed into half guard.
Shaw tries to pass the half guard into mount. Unken knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Shaw is looking to take a break and control but Unken is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Unken wants to improve his position but Shaw is controlling well.
Unken wants to get back to full guard but Shaw has mounted him!

Unken is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Shaw scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Unken?

Unken manages to regain half guard whilst avoiding the strikes.
We've been hearing that Shaw has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Unken is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Shaw stops Unken from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Unken wants to control the action here but instead Shaw manages to pass to full mount!

Shaw scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Unken is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Shaw trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Unken really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Unken keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Unken tries to control the position but Shaw now has his back.
Unken tries to roll but Shaw sticks to his back.
Unken is trying to get back to his feet but Shaw has full control of the position and if anything, Unken has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Shaw wants to control but Unken is keeping busy.
Shaw is really struggling to control Unken but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Unken controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad spot.
Shaw trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Deshawn Shaw dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Unken throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Unken looks to throw the jab but Shaw is out of range.

Unken throws a hook but Shaw blocks it.
Duke Unken seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A jab from Unken does it's job there.


Shaw is rocked!
Duke Unken seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Unken flashes Shaw a smile before throwing a beast of a right hand, straight down the pipe. Shaw's eyes follow the hand right onto his nose, taking in it's full glory... and then darkness. Shaw crumples to the floor! He's out cold! Unken punches the air and yells at the top of his lungs - yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Duke Unken!
