Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Richie Barlow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Evan Swint!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swint scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Swint looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Barlow is avoiding damage well.
Barlow is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Swint connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Barlow some visible discomfort.
Swint stands up.
Barlow changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Swint tries to avoid it but Barlow manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Swint to the ground. Swint escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Swint tried to score with a low kick but Barlow checks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barlow's jab looks to have found its range, popping Swint under the eye.
Barlow checks a low kick from Swint.
Swint throws a series of punches but Barlow avoids them all with ease.
Barlow avoids a punch combination nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Swint takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Swint moves into the clinch successfully.
Barlow looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Barlow is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Come on Swint - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Barlow tries to circle away but Swint has him pinned against the cage.
Barlow escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Swint darts in and clinches Barlow up against the cage.
Barlow pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Swint closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Barlow to the mat! Barlow manages to get full guard.
Swint is fighting to break Barlow's control of his arms but Barlow is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Swint slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Swint lying in Barlow's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Barlow decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Swint taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Richie Barlow!
In defeat, Evan Swint stepped up to the mic, saying 'I'll be back next time with vengance and a fucking budweiser'.
