Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bret Bass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Benson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, James Benson! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Benson has managed to clinch.
Bass is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Benson to keep the fight standing. Bass pulls guard successfully.
Bass might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Benson trying to stand up but can't free himself from Bass's guard. Bass wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Benson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Bass could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bass manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Benson manages to get himself to full guard.

Bass keeps control of Benson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Bass jumps guard but Benson turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Bass jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Benson walks away with a smile on his face. Bass gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Benson rushes Bass and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Benson stalls. Bass fails to pull the fight into his guard.
