Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Igor Brezlav (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evan Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Evan Thomas!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Thiago Cunha and Alexandre Firmino.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas cracks Brezlav with a right hand to the side of the head.

Brezlav closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Thomas to the mat! Thomas manages to get full guard.

It looks like Evan Thomas has been cut.
We've been hearing that Brezlav has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Brezlav loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Brezlav's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Brezlav has gone for a leg lock! Thomas slips out almost immediately though and dives into Brezlav's guard.

Brezlav is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Thomas avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Thomas wants to control from the top but Brezlav keeps moving.
Thomas might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Brezlav haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Brezlav is looking to cinch up a triangle. Thomas throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Brezlav's body to avoid the submission. Brezlav has instead reached around Thomas's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Brezlav arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
