Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Paul Jacobs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junior Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paul Jacobs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Junior Silva! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Edson Gomes and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva connects with a looping right hand.
A nice inside leg kick there by Silva. That's going to slow Jacobs down. Silva tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jacobs swivels and escapes. Silva clinches. Silva escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Silva fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jacobs, pushing him back against the cage. Silva jumps guard and drags Jacobs to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Silva is adopting a defensive guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Silva looking for a sweep. Not yet Silva, not yet. Silva manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Silva's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jacobs tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jacobs to the ground. Jacobs escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jacobs tries to clinch and Silva counters with a one-two to the body. Silva throws a sloppy head kick and Jacobs counters with a lovely straight right hand! Silva fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jacobs, pushing him back against the cage. Silva is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Silva breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Silva gets a clinch. Silva pulls guard effortlessly. Silva pulls Jacobs in to control the position. Silva looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Jacobs is fighting to break Silva's control of his arms but Silva is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Jacobs has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jacobs stands up from guard. Let's bang! Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Jacobs, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Jacobs against the cage but Jacobs circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Paul Jacobs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Junior Silva. Silva shoots for a takedown but Jacobs saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Silva looks winded! Jacobs fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jacobs takes the fight into the clinch. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jacobs gets underhooks to prevent Silva's takedown attempt.

Jacobs tries to score a body lock takedown but Silva shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Silva slowing the pace effectively.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Silva has his takedown stuffed and Jacobs counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Silva tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jacobs sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Silva somewhat. As Silva looks to move away, Jacobs throws a big counter combo but Silva just gets out of the way. Silva works over Jacobs's head and body with a nice combination. Silva misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Jacobs counters with a straight right hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jacobs tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Silva manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Paul Jacobs is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Jacobs pushes Silva up against the cage in a clinch. Silva breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jacobs tries to close the distance and clinch but Silva swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Jacobs tries to keep at a distance but Silva has taken the fight into the clinch. Jacobs looks to throw an elbow but misses. Silva has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jacobs uses from the top position. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Silva looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Junior Silva dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Silva has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Silva gets to his feet. Jacobs looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Silva tries for a takedown but Jacobs circles away easily and Jacobs counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Silva thinking. Silva shoots in but Jacobs avoids the takedown attempt easily. Jacobs looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Silva shoots and misses letting Jacobs counter with a right hand. Paul Jacobs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Junior Silva. Silva gets in close and instigates a clinch. Jacobs is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Silva to keep the fight standing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Silva tries for a takedown but Jacobs circles away easily and Jacobs connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Silva tries for a takedown but Jacobs circles away easily enabling Jacobs to counter with a crisp jab. Silva is breathing heavily. Jacobs moves into the clinch. Jacobs keeps control of Silva as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Silva wants a takedown but no success here.

Jacobs really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Jacobs wants to pass the guard but Silva is keeping the position. Jacobs controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Jacobs knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground. Silva tries to land a sweep but no joy. Jacobs sitting in guard here, content to control. Jacobs will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Jacobs stands up from guard. Let's bang! Jacobs closes the distance and pushes Silva back into the cage. Nice body punch from Silva. Jacobs is pushing Silva up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva jumps guard but Jacobs stands there with Silva around his waist. Silva gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Silva is trying to push Jacobs away but Jacobs has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Jacobs effectively controlling the action here. Silva lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jacobs tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Paul Jacobs dominated that second round. That's time! Jacobs's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Silva blocks a jab. Silva shoots in for a takedown but Jacobs shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Silva shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jacobs pinned against the cage. Jacobs gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Horrible takedown attempt by Silva or perhaps it was just good defense by Jacobs, which made it look bad. Paul Jacobs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Junior Silva. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Silva dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Jacobs. That did some damage! Jacobs is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Silva shoots in looking for a takedown but Jacobs manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Silva's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Silva takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Silva darts in and clinches Jacobs up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva fails to pull guard.
Silva creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Silva pulls guard effortlessly. Jacobs trying to control but Silva is working from the bottom. Silva is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jacobs is controlling him. Jacobs is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Jacobs looking to sit in guard and control but Silva gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Silva trying to control but Jacobs is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Silva wants to control from the top but Jacobs keeps moving. Silva content to stall in guard here. Let's hope that Silva has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva gets to his feet. Jacobs looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Jacobs tries to clinch there but Silva circles away.

The fight moves into the clinch position. Silva drags the fight down to the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva wants to stand but Jacobs is controlling the position. Junior Silva has got the better of the ground game so far. Silva thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Jacobs drops back looking for a leg! Silva is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Silva manages to kick Jacobs off! Jacobs jumps back into Silva's guard. Silva wriggles free and stands up. Silva is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jacobs. Junior Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jacobs tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Silva shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Jacobs wants to clinch up but Silva keeps it at a distance. Silva rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jacobs moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Junior Silva comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Silva has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
