Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Ty Semerad! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Maul! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maul fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Semerad, pushing him back against the cage. Semerad turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Semerad manages to end up in side control. Maul gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Semerad wants to control but Maul is keeping him busy. Maul moves into full guard.
Maul pulls Semerad in close to prevent any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Semerad has gone for a leg lock! Maul slips out almost immediately though and dives into Semerad's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Semerad working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Maul doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Maul manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Maul slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Maul won't allow Semerad to sweep him here. Maul wants to get up but he can't break Semerad's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Semerad has Maul pulled in close to control his posture. Maul trying to control but Semerad is working from the bottom. Maul must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Maul postures up.
Maul stays in close to Semerad's body and controls the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Maul throws a big elbow that misses. Maul looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Maul moves into the clinch. Maul scores with a nice hook to the head. Semerad has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Maul regains guard immediately. Maul is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Maul keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Semerad avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Maul. Maul controlling the pace. Semerad wants to control but Maul is keeping busy.
Semerad looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Semerad tries to roll over but Maul keeps him under control. Maul trying to control the action but Semerad is working from the bottom. That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Maul's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Maul looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Maul escapes and gets back to his feet. Maul pushes Semerad up against the cage in a clinch. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Maul prevents the takedown attempt.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ty Semerad. That's going to take a lot out of him. Maul swings wildly with an uppercut but Semerad uses good head movement to avoid it. Maul gets underhooks to prevent Semerad's takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paul Maul dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Maul throws a one two combo.
Maul stalks Semerad and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Semerad's face. Semerad staggers backwards, shaken. Maul bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Semerad's head backwards. Maul is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Semerad. Semerad on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Semerad is rocked! Maul scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Oh Semerad is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Maul has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Semerad is landing a low percentage of strikes. Maul connects with a right that clearly hurt Semerad. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Maul proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Semerad collapses and taps out under the pressure!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Paul Maul! Our winner, Paul Maul, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
