Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Felipe Paraventi and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller lands a slapping body shot.
Miller tests Teijeira's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Teijeira will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Miller throws a low kick but Teijeira avoids it.
Teijeira tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Nice sprawl there from Teijeira as Miller shoots in.
Teijeira scores with a one two! Miller had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.


It looks like Paul Miller has been cut.

Miller takes the fight into the clinch.

Teijeira has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Miller uses from the top position.
Miller wanted to stand there but Teijeira had control of the position.

Teijeira slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Miller can do anything to dispel that myth.
Teijeira misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Teijeira decides to stand up, so the ref orders Miller to his feet.
Miller defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Teijeira.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Miller blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

We've been informed that Miller has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcelo Teijeira. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Teijeira tries to pull guard but Miller holds him up against the cage and eventually Teijeira drops back down to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Teijeira fires out a quick counter leg kick but Miller just manages to avoid it.

Miller is trying hard to land a takedown here. Teijeira sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Miller shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Teijeira pinned against the cage. Teijeira gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Miller closes the distance and pushes Teijeira back into the cage.

Miller is trying to break the clinch but Teijeira is controlling him.

Teijeira pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Miller tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Teijeira defends well and Miller ends up having to push Teijeira into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Miller has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Teijeira controls Miller momentarily but Miller frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Miller has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Teijeira is proving hard to escape from.

Teijeira escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Miller gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Miller wants to stand and escape but instead Teijeira has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Marcelo Teijeira overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Teijeira passes Miller's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Miller tries to kick Teijeira off but Teijeira keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Teijeira is keen to just control but Miller is a slippery customer.
Teijeira is really struggling to control Miller but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Teijeira is pressing down on Miller's thigh, looking to free his foot. Miller is holding on for now.
Paul Miller is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Marcelo Teijeira.
I think Miller has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
