PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chan-Sung Jung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenshin Yamamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jung comes into the arena with Waiting Room blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 44 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chan-Sung Jung!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 9 - 1, fighting out of New York, Kenshin Yamamoto!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Ackerman and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jung throws a head kick but Yamamoto moves out of range.
Yamamoto has his takedown stuffed

and Jung counters with a single leg into guard. Yamamoto didn't expect that.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Yamamoto.

Yamamoto throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jung's waist but Jung gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Yamamoto off to one side.
Chan-Sung Jung has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenshin Yamamoto.
Jung lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Jung tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Yamamoto connects with a nice short shot to Jung's temple.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Jung isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Yamamoto stacks Jung on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Yamamoto!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Yamamoto works to advance to full mount. Jung defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Jung might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Yamamoto postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Jung looks a forlorn figure.

Still in half guard, Jung seems content to control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jung stalling away here and it's allowed Yamamoto to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Kenshin Yamamoto has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

I would just about give that final round to Kenshin Yamamoto.
