Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brendan Terrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Makwan Lak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Makwan Lak has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Brendan Terrell's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Brendan Terrell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Makwan Lak! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Matti Vanhoillinen and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lak throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Terrell is looking for a counter combo. Terrell tries for a takedown but Lak circles away easily and Lak counters with a right hand to the body. Lak closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lak lands in his opponent's guard. Terrell looking for a sweep. Not yet Terrell, not yet. Terrell could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Lak wants to stand but Terrell is controlling his posture from full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Terrell keeping moving, preventing Lak from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Terrell controls Lak momentarily but Lak frees himself. Terrell looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Terrell is pulling down on Lak's head. It's preventing any offense from Lak, at least for the moment. Terrell has momentary wrist control but Lak slips an elbow through the middle. Lak preventing the sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Lak trying to control but Terrell is working from the bottom. Lak trying to stand up but can't free himself from Terrell's guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Lak drives through with a takedown into Terrell's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Lak wanted to stand there but Terrell had control of the position. Lak wants to control from the top but Terrell keeps moving. Terrell might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Lak is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Terrell is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Terrell has escaped and now he's on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Terrell is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Terrell throws a big right hand that misses. Terrell stands up and waves to Lak to follow him. Terrell misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Lak darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Terrell tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Lak manages to move to mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Terrell is squirming around, avoiding Lak's attempts to control the action. Terrell bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Terrell throws a strike but Lak rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Terrell is trying to hold Lak in close to prevent damage but Lak has managed to pass into half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Terrell wants to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Makwan Lak dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Terrell shoots in and drives through. Lak sprawls well. Brendan Terrell is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Lak stuffs the takedown. Lak throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Lak throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Terrell was covering up waiting for the punch and Lak finishes the takedown easily into guard. Lak is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lak is in close to Terrell's body, working some short punches and elbows. Lak trying to control the position from guard on top but Terrell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lak is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Terrell has momentary wrist control but Lak slips an elbow through the middle. Lak with a nice head shot there. Terrell looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lak is one step ahead there. Lak advances position into side control! Lak working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lak tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Terrell managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Lak.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Terrell dives in for a single leg takedown but Lak sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brendan Terrell. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lak misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Terrell is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Lak. Terrell dives in and grabs Lak's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lak pushes down on Terrell's head and hops out. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Lak tries a head kick but it misses.

Terrell shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lak as he avoids it easily. Terrell shoots in and drives through. Lak sprawls well. Lak shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lak is looking for a kimura here.
Lak gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Lak forces Terrell back against the cage and clinches. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Makwan Lak showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Lak closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Terrell quickly recovers to half guard. Lak passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Terrell! Lak can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Terrell is looking to escape. Lak dominating with strikes here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Terrell is trying to escape the mount.
Lak throwing strikes here but Terrell is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Terrell tries to get back to half guard but can't. Lak controlling from mount. Terrell is just holding on here. Lak manages to take his back.
Lak looking to break Terrell's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Terrell remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Lak will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Terrell is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Lak gets his way!

Lak takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Lak is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Terrell has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Lak is not going to allow Terrell to sit and survive in this position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. I really don't envy Terrell right now.
Terrell is working hard here to advance position. Terrell trying to control but not successfully. Lak is trying to control but Terrell is trying to escape here - he's now mounted.
Lak swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Terrell is now in Lak's guard. A big mistake from Lak there, giving up the dominant position!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Terrell chips away with some ground and pound. Terrell is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Terrell trying to stand up but can't free himself from Lak's guard. Lak is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Terrell defends well. Lak trying to control the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Terrell landing some decent shots from guard. Brendan Terrell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Makwan Lak is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Makwan Lak has got the better of the ground game so far. Lak is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that's the end of the fight! Makwan Lak comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Lak has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
