Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chip Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt The Machine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Lose Yourself. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chip Ryan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Matt The Machine!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ryan dives in and scores a takedown into The Machine's guard.
The Machine bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ryan's guard.


The Machine drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and The Machine jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Ryan is not content to let The Machine control the position.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Ryan bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

The Machine drives through with a takedown into guard.
Ryan wants to sweep here but The Machine controlling him for the moment.
The Machine slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Ryan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The Machine drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ryan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now The Machine has Ryan in his guard.

The Machine has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ryan is working away from the top position though.

Ryan is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! The Machine is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! The Machine has escaped and now he's on top!

We've been informed that The Machine has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
The Machine keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Ryan's head.

The Machine drops back looking for a leg! Ryan is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ryan manages to kick The Machine off! The Machine jumps back into Ryan's guard.
The Machine slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

The Machine thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
You can see the frustration on Ryan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The Machine is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ryan knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



The Machine shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ryan napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Ryan works to advance to full mount. The Machine defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Ryan is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But The Machine has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from The Machine!

The Machine maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Ryan could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but The Machine has cracked it and Ryan is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by The Machine!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Matt The Machine!
Chip Ryan spoke after the fight, saying 'Next time I'll come back, stronger, faster and better and show the world that Chip Ryan doesn't stay down'.
