Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Clyde Bates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Garty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garty tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Bates is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Garty shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bates sprawls well. Bates wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Garty gets slowly back to his feet.
Garty falls off balance throwing a combination
and Bates makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Garty tries to clinch but Bates moves out of range.
Garty throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Bates closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Garty did well to prevent Bates getting side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Garty wants to get back to full guard but Bates has mounted him!
Garty takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

BOOM! Bates connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Garty tries to lock up and control but Bates gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Bates could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bates is landing with some decent strikes but Garty is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Bates throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Garty lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Garty goes for a double leg but Bates avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bates continues to drive forward.
Garty shoots in but Bates avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Bates rushes Garty and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Garty wants to break the clinch but can't.
Bates will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Garty up against the cage.
Bates is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Garty can do to turn this around?

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Garty tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bates wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Garty is looking to regain half guard here but Bates keeps moving and retains side control.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
You can see the frustration on Garty's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Garty throws a lazy uppercut
and Bates cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Garty tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bates manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Garty fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Garty uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bates.
As Bates backs off Garty throws a huge counter combo but Bates manages to avoid it all.
Garty fails to land the takedown.
Bates leaves Garty with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
As Garty tries to get set, Bates tries to push him back and clinch up but Garty manages to avoid the attempt.
Garty pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sam Garty seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Garty looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Garty takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Bates looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Garty!

Bates remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Bates takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Bates has hold of Garty's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Garty manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Garty bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Bates wants to sweep but no luck.

Garty stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bates swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sam Garty has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Clyde Bates is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Bates pulls Garty in close to prevent any damage.
