Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mack Johnstown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Eikmeyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mack Johnstown! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 25 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mario Eikmeyer! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnstown throws the left hand but Eikmeyer avoids the punch easily. Johnstown moves into range and clinches up with Eikmeyer. Eikmeyer is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Johnstown gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Johnstown gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
It looks like Mario Eikmeyer has been cut. Johnstown scores with a shot to the side of Eikmeyer's head. Eikmeyer tries to score a body lock takedown but Johnstown shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Eikmeyer turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Eikmeyer is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Johnstown is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Eikmeyer sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Johnstown is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Eikmeyer is trying to get an arm triangle but Johnstown is defending well. Johnstown manages to work his way to half guard, despite Eikmeyer's best efforts. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Johnstown is trying to control but can't.

Johnstown is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Eikmeyer's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Eikmeyer's back! Johnstown throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Johnstown looking to break Eikmeyer's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Eikmeyer remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Johnstown will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Eikmeyer connects with a couple of short punches. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Eikmeyer stops Johnstown from standing up. Johnstown has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Eikmeyer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Eikmeyer postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Eikmeyer got a little sloppy there for a moment and Johnstown has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Eikmeyer has managed to get both his arms back between Johnstown's legs - danger averted. Eikmeyer drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Eikmeyer jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Eikmeyer chips away with some ground and pound. Eikmeyer scoring with punches to the head and body. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Eikmeyer lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Johnstown is rocked! Johnstown manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Eikmeyer manages to get himself to full guard.
