Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeff Saturday!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saturday gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Hanson counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Saturday swinging wildly here.
Hanson tries to counter by clinching up but Saturday breaks away and moves out of range.

Hanson jumps guard and drags Saturday to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Hanson is trying to control the position but Saturday postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Saturday seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hanson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Hanson is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Hanson is squirming around, avoiding Saturday's attempts to control the action.
Hanson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hanson wants to control but Saturday is having none of it.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hanson is trying to stand but he's just given Saturday his back.
Saturday slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Hanson really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...
Hanson is trying to get back to his feet but Saturday has full control of the position and if anything, Hanson has just worked his way into a worse spot.

What can Hanson do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Hanson tries to close the distance and clinch but Saturday swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Saturday has a closed guard, preventing Hanson from standing up.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Saturday is on top in guard.

Hanson wants to stand up but Saturday is controlling him.

Hanson tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Hanson throws a low kick but Saturday avoids it.

Saturday shoots in and drives through. Hanson sprawls well.

Saturday tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Hanson shoots for a takedown but Saturday saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Saturday looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Hanson moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Saturday tries to clinch but Hanson moves out of range.
Hanson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Saturday swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Josef Hanson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Saturday closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hanson did well to prevent Saturday getting side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hanson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Saturday is working away from the top position though.

Saturday is working for a submission of some sort.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Saturday is pressing down on Hanson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hanson is holding on for now.

Saturday has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Hanson regains guard immediately.

Saturday misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Hanson wants to control but Saturday postures up.
Hanson is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Saturday has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Hanson trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Hanson is not content to let Saturday control the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Saturday lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hanson enables Saturday to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hanson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Hanson wants to stand and escape but Saturday is having none of it.

Hanson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Saturday slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
