Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Melvin Mercy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Harry Sears! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Mercy. Sears scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Mercy avoids the body shot from Sears.
Mercy slips a jab and a cross from Sears.
Mercy tries to land a front kick but Sears steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Mercy throws a head kick that half lands.
It looks like Harry Sears has been cut. We've been informed that Sears has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Sears looks to land a body kick but Mercy moved away. Sears swings for the body but Mercy moves out of range.
Harry Sears seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mercy uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sears.
Sears misses with an uppercut
and Mercy counters with a left and a right... And another left! Sears is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!
