Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mark Gregory (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brock Resnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Gregory!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brock Resnar!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gregory will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A left and a right from Gregory both land. Nice combination.
Gregory throws a solid leg kick but Resnar takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Gregory.

Resnar shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Resnar showed some decent athleticism there.
Gregory is looking to escape.
Resnar looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Resnar passes to full mount!
Gregory is desperately trying to improve his position but Resnar has a good base and remains in mount.
Gregory knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Resnar on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Resnar is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Gregory can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Resnar is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Gregory knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Gregory for a finish.

Resnar is persistently looking for the submission but Gregory is defending it well.

Gregory is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Resnar gets his way!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Resnar shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Resnar was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Despite the aggression on Resnar's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Resnar slips a jab and a cross from Gregory.
Mark Gregory is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gregory throws a right hand that Resnar ducks under and follows up with a left that Resnar also avoids with ease.

Resnar fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gregory to the ground. Resnar is now in Gregory's guard.

Resnar is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Resnar is breathing heavily.
Gregory is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Resnar is controlling him.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Resnar is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Gregory's half guard.

Gregory is staying active underneath Resnar, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Resnar prevents Gregory from standing back up.
Resnar seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gregory does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Resnar thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gregory's head.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Gregory tries to bum rush Resnar with a series of wild strikes but Resnar uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Gregory lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Gregory moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Resnar avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Resnar is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Gregory throws a nice looking combination but Resnar bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Gregory shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Resnar eats them both and turns towards Gregory to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Gregory connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gregory lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Resnar circles away quickly and effectively.
A nice side step and Resnar releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Resnar.

Resnar is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Gregory throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Gregory doesn't manage to clinch there - Resnar circles away.
Gregory throws a looping overhand right but Resnar ducks down to avoid it.
Resnar on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Gregory's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Gregory wants to stand and escape but instead Resnar has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gregory wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Resnar has him pressed against the cage.

Resnar keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Gregory's efforts to push away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Resnar breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Gregory throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Resnar closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Gregory is trying to control Resnar's posture but Resnar avoids it.
Gregory is pushing Resnar's head away, looking to escape. Resnar manages to hold on to the position though.

Resnar is looking to take a break and control but Gregory is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Resnar might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Gregory haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Gregory wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
The strikes coming from Resnar are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Gregory swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Gregory feints a jab promting Resnar to slip. Gregory then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Resnar slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gregory is looking to get back to his feet here but Resnar is keeping cool and he's managed to take Gregory's back.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mark Gregory.
I think Gregory has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
