Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Earl Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugo Jimenez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Earl Allen had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 157.9lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Earl Allen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hugo Jimenez! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Matheus Silva and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jimenez throws out a loose jab but Allen uses good head movement to avoid it. Allen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Allen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jimenez avoids it really well and circles away. Good shot there by Jimenez. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Allen slips under a jab. Jimenez throws a leg kick but Allen sees it coming and moves out of range. A nice combination there by Jimenez.
Jimenez looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Allen fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jimenez avoids it really well and circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Earl Allen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jimenez misses with a hook. Jimenez throws a shot to the body.
Allen has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Allen there as he acknowledges the shot. Allen drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Jimenez swings for the body but Allen moves out of range.
Jimenez is looking to chop away at Allen's legs. Allen half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Allen gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Jimenez. Allen definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Jimenez connects with a solid leg kick. Hugo Jimenez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jimenez lands with an uppercut that bounces Allen off the cage and back into range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Allen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Allen slips a jab from Jimenez. Allen changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Allen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jimenez's waist but Jimenez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Allen off to one side. Allen takes a body punch but keeps moving. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jimenez scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. A jab lands there for Jimenez. Jimenez misses with a looping left. Allen steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jimenez. Allen tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Jimenez manages to circle out of the way. Jimenez throws a nice outside leg kick. That kick from Jimenez tenderised Allen's leg. Allen is trying to keep his angry face on. Jimenez throws a hook but Allen blocks it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Allen moves forwards but Jimenez connects with a nice, crisp jab. Jimenez swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Allen shoots in for a takedown but Jimenez shows good takedown defense. Jimenez's jab looks to have found its range, popping Allen under the eye. Allen blocks a low kick nicely. Allen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Jimenez lands a slapping body shot.
Jimenez connects with a body shot. No luck with that takedown attempt from Allen. Hugo Jimenez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Jimenez scores with the left hand. Allen knows he should have avoided that one.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jimenez misses with a wild body shot. Allen changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Nice sprawl there from Jimenez as Allen shoots in. Jimenez lands the left hand. Jimenez uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Allen has time to react. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jimenez lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Allen at a distance.
A left lands for Jimenez. A looping hook to the body misses from Jimenez. Allen does a little dance to reset his feet. Allen appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Jimenez throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Hugo Jimenez dominated that round. That's time! Allen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Jimenez lands with a right hand. Jimenez sizes up Allen with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Jimenez throws a combination. Allen tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Allen takes a body punch but keeps moving. Jimenez bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. A leg kick checked by Allen. Allen drops down looking for a counter takedown but Jimenez sprawls and moves away. Allen shoots in but Jimenez avoids the takedown attempt easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jimenez listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Nice straight punches there by Jimenez. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Jimenez. Jimenez has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Allen misses with a takedown attempt - Jimenez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Allen doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Jimenez lands a body shot.
Jimenez looks to score with a jab to the body but Allen is just out of range. Allen seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Allen walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. A lazy left from Jimenez finds it's target. Jimenez lands a jab to the nose. Jimenez tests Allen's chin there with a solid looking shot. Jimenez's corner calls for a 1-2. Jimenez obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Allen on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Jimenez lands a body shot.
Jimenez cracks Allen with a right hand to the side of the head. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jimenez looks to score with a jab to the body but Allen is just out of range. Allen misses with a takedown and Jimenez counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Earl Allen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jimenez lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Jimenez ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Allen moves away. Donk. Jimenez catches Allen right on the button with a cross. Hugo Jimenez seems to be getting the better of the standup. Jimenez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jimenez connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Allen takes one on the chin but seems OK.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Allen. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Jimenez thuds a left hand into Allen's body. Good standup being displayed there by Jimenez as he connects with a hook. Allen blocks a leg kick. Jimenez bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Allen's head. Jimenez lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Jimenez takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. A looping hook to the body misses from Jimenez. Allen does a little dance to reset his feet. Jimenez missing with a left hand there. Allen was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Allen ducks under a wild hook from Jimenez. Allen is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Jimenez. Jimenez lands a really nice looking cross but Allen seems unphased.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Allen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jimenez but Jimenez pushes him off and we're back to square one. Jimenez lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Jimenez throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Allen slips a jab and a cross from Jimenez.
Allen drops down looking for a counter takedown but Jimenez sprawls and moves away. Jimenez misses with a straight left. Allen fails to land the takedown. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hugo Jimenez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Allen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jimenez tries to avoid it but Allen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jimenez to the ground. Jimenez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Allen takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Allen moves into range and clinches up with Jimenez. Jimenez lands a nice shot to the body. Jimenez lands on the inside with an uppercut. Jimenez lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Allen is rocked! Jimenez creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Allen's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Allen drops to his knees and Jimenez pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hugo Jimenez! After winning the bout, Hugo Jimenez thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
