Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Richie Barlow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Scott Fargo!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fargo has taken the fight to the clinch.

Barlow escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Fargo shoots in and bounces Barlow off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Fargo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Barlow wants to stand up but Fargo is controlling him.
Fargo engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barlow has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Fargo looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Barlow is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Barlow can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Fargo controls the pace.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Barlow really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Barlow clinches.
Fargo is trying to force a seperation but Barlow has the dominant position.

Fargo displaying some good clinch control by pressing Barlow up against the cage.

Barlow pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Fargo forces Barlow back against the cage and clinches.
Fargo keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Barlow's efforts to push away.
Barlow misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Fargo decides to pull guard.
Barlow will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Fargo trying to strike off his back.
Barlow trying to control the position from guard on top but Fargo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Fargo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Fargo is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Fargo looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Fargo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Barlow doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Barlow manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Barlow wants to control from the top but Fargo keeps moving.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Fargo is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Barlow dives into side control.
Fargo tries to bench press Barlow off him but Barlow keeps the position.
Fargo is not content to let Barlow control the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fargo regains half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A head kick by Fargo misses
and Barlow counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Fargo bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Fargo decides to stand back up.

Fargo fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Barlow, pushing him back against the cage.
Barlow has had enough of the clinch but Fargo keeps him there for the moment.

Fargo gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Fargo controlling the action here.
Fargo prevents Barlow from standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fargo seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Barlow is trying to control but can't.
Fargo passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Barlow!
Barlow blocking the ground and pound.
Barlow is working to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Fargo is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Barlow has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Barlow!

Fargo is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Fargo lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Fargo is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Barlow is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Barlow has escaped and now he's on top!


Fargo manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Fargo is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Barlow can't fight it off and eventually Fargo manages to take the fight to the floor. Barlow looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Barlow has his feet on Fargo's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Fargo stuffs the takedown attempt from Barlow. Barlow gets slowly back to his feet.

Barlow gets in close and instigates a clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Barlow escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Fargo shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Fargo has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Barlow is trying to maintain the position but Fargo is very close to passing his half guard.
Fargo not doing much here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scott Fargo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Fargo closes the distance and pushes Barlow back into the cage.
Barlow manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
A frustrated look appears on Barlow's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Barlow struggles to land a body shot inside as Fargo controls his hands.
Barlow wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Fargo decides to pull guard.

Barlow wanted to stand there but Fargo had control of the position.
Fargo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Barlow fails with the takedown
and Barlow takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Barlow enables Fargo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Barlow manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Fargo wants to control from the top but Barlow keeps moving.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fargo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Barlow controls Fargo momentarily but Fargo frees himself.

And that's the end of the fight!
Scott Fargo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Fargo winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
