Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Shamo Lee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Glenn Williamson! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee throws a hook to the side of Williamson's head but Williamson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Lee misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Williamson.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Williamson has Lee pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Williamson pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Lee tumbling to the mat - Williamson dives into Lee's guard. Williamson controls the pace of the fight for a moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lee looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Williamson puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Williamson frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Williamson swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Lee is now in Williamson's guard. A big mistake from Williamson there, giving up the dominant position! Lee wants to control from the top but Williamson keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williamson wriggles free and stands up. Lee gets caught napping as Williamson dives in and scores a takedown. Lee manages to retain guard. Lee looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Williamson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Williamson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Lee looking for a sweep. Not yet Lee, not yet. Lee being controlled here, momentarily. Williamson pushing down on Lee's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Williamson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lee sees it coming and defends easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Williamson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Lee has managed to free his arm - good work. Williamson wants to work for an arm triangle but Lee is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Williamson wants to take a breather but Lee is having none of it. Lee is trying to maintain the position but Williamson is very close to passing his half guard. Lee wants to improve his position but Williamson is controlling well.

Lee regains full guard. Nicely done. Lee might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Williamson trying to control but Lee is working from the bottom. Williamson has gone for a leg lock! Lee slips out almost immediately though and dives into Williamson's guard.
The fighters are working up against the cage. Williamson manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Lee lands a hook to the side of the head. Williamson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Lee avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Lee creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Lee scores with a shoulder strike.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lee softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lee lands a left hand that snaps the head of Williamson backwards. Williamson is looking to take this one to the mat. Williamson prevents a body shot from Lee. Williamson is trying to trip Lee. He has hold of a leg but Lee is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Williamson persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Lee looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Lee is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Williamson is aware though and is defending well. Williamson passes Lee's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Lee tries to roll over but Williamson keeps him under control. Williamson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lee is just riding it out for now. Williamson eventually gives up the hold. Lee moves into full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Glenn Williamson dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Lee drops his shoulder and cracks Williamson with a huge uppercut! Williamson goes down! Can Lee finish him?
Williamson is rocked! Lee stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Williamson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Williamson is still in real trouble! Can Lee finish him? Williamson wants to stand but Lee is controlling the position. Williamson seems to have recovered his senses. Williamson pushes Lee off and scrambles back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action! Williamson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Lee did well to prevent Williamson getting side control. Williamson seems to be working for a kimura but Lee defends the submission attempt. Williamson is working for a kimura but Lee is defending it quite comfortably.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Williamson in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Lee tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Williamson!
