The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Redman tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lacey swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Lacey shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Redman as he avoids it easily.
Redman misses with a series of wild punches.
Lacey misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mason Redman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Redman with a lazy takedown attempt
and Lacey counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Lacey throws a big right hand that misses.

Redman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Redman is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Lacey has his hands clasped together but Redman extends an breaks Lacey's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Redman.
