Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Smash Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rickon Reed!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, John Roberts and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams moves out of range of the strikes.
Williams fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Reed on the side of the head.
Williams connects with the punch.


Reed is rocked!
Williams closes this distance looking for a takedown but Reed circles away.
Reed cracks Williams with a right hand to the side of the head.
Williams keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Reed.
Reed throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A jab lands there for Reed.
Williams has a takedown stuffed.
Reed leaves Williams with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Reed throws out a counter right but Williams avoids it with no problem.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Smash Williams. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Reed scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Williams definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Smash Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Reed lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Williams sprawling to the canvas. Reed follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Williams hang on?

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Reed connects with a nice short shot to Williams's temple.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Reed content to control rather than advance.

Reed manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Williams manages to get himself to full guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Reed enables Williams to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Reed manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Reed. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Well Reed has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
