Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
25 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Freddy Steel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
25 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Dantes!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel misses with an uppercut
and Dantes counters with a nice leg kick.
Dantes lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
It looks like Freddy Steel has been cut.
Dantes throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Dantes ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
A nice leg kick lands there from Steel.
Dantes comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Dantes jabs at Steel's body.
A chopping leg kick lands by Dantes.
Dantes slips under a jab.
Dantes chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Steel can pounce on him.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Steel walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Dantes works the jab nicely.
Freddy Steel's cut is getting worse.
Dantes scores with a push kick.
Steel is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Donk. Dantes catches Steel right on the button with a cross.
A good leg kick by Dantes.
Dantes lands a nice shot to the body.
Steel throws a head kick but Dantes moves out of range.
Dantes lands with a right hand.
Dantes dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Dantes cracks Steel with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Freddy Steel's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Steel is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Dantes lands a big uppercut and Steel crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Steel looks OK. Dantes waves Steel back to his feet!
Steel is rocked!
Jeez, Freddy Steel's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Freddy Steel's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Marcus Dantes!
In his post fight interview, Marcus Dantes started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
