Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joshua Levenstein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregory Campion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Gregory Campion was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gregory Campion! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Lou da Vinci and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Campion bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Levenstein is being controlled here. Campion working away. Campion wants to lay and pray for a moment but Levenstein keeps working. Campion looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Levenstein trying to remain calm as Campion controls from the top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Levenstein tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Campion wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Levenstein is working hard here to advance position. That's one minute gone in the round. Campion is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Levenstein 's shoulder. That is not cool. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Levenstein sneaks back into half guard. Campion perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Campion drops an elbow to the side of Levenstein 's head. Levenstein is looking to control Campion's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Levenstein avoid being mounted? Campion content to control rather than advance. It looks like Campion might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Levenstein trying to hold on to Campion's head to control him but Campion postures up.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Levenstein wants to improve his position but Campion is controlling well.

Still in half guard, Campion seems content to control. Campion slips a nice elbow through Levenstein 's hands, connecting with Levenstein 's forehead.
It looks like Joshua Levenstein has been cut. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Campion in particular looking to stall. Campion is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Levenstein 's guard. Campion slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Levenstein is looking to reverse the position. Joshua Levenstein 's cut is getting worse. Campion fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Levenstein , pushing him back against the cage. Campion has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Campion stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nice takedown defense from Campion. No joy for Levenstein on that attempt. Campion now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Campion takes the fight into the clinch. Levenstein has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Campion avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Campion lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Levenstein can't get the takedown.

Campion gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Levenstein can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Campion controls the pace. Campion lands a couple of digs. Levenstein is trying to control the position but Campion postures up. Campion distracts Levenstein with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Campion postures up and lands a big shot to Levenstein 's brow. Campion is in close to Levenstein 's body, working some short punches and elbows. Campion showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Campion's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Campion must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Levenstein . Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
