Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Caliman Matos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abu Rock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Caliman Matos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Abu Rock!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Matos looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Matos had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rock defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rock sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Matos's guard.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Rock cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Rock is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Matos closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Rock's guard.

Matos is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Rock has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Rock!

Rock working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Rock cracks Matos with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Matos from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Rock just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Matos tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
The referee warns Matos that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Rock has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Abu Rock showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Matos's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Rock bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Matos's guard.


Matos has his foot on Rock's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rock works his way back into a safe position though.

Rock slips a nice elbow through Matos's hands, connecting with Matos's forehead.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Let's hope that Rock has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Matos is in all sorts of trouble here.

Abu Rock comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Rock has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
