Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joey Path (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and SD Plissken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joey Path!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, SD Plissken!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Path shoots in but no luck this time.
Plissken swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Plissken checks a low kick from Path.
Plissken keeps the fight on the outside.

Path shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Plissken wants to hold on but Path pushes him away.
Plissken has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Path's lack of action.
Plissken regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Path.
Plissken throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Path would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Path has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Path pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Plissken is keeping the position for now.

Plissken has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Path off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Joey Path seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Path takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Plissken will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Plissken jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Path misses with a few strikes there.
Path moves out of range as Plissken throws a body kick.

Plissken drives through and clinches with Path against the cage.
Path has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Plissken is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Path decides to pull guard.

Plissken gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Plissken closes the distance and clinches up with Path, looking for a takedown. Plissken pushes Path against the cage but Path circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Joey Path has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of SD Plissken.
Path shoots in for a double leg but Plissken sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Path closes this distance looking for a takedown but Plissken circles away.
Path moves out of range of the body kick.
Path avoids the head kick by Plissken.
Plissken lands a with a good body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Plissken looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Path throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Plissken's head.

Plissken throws a chopping leg kick but Path manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Path tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Plissken paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Plissken wants to break free but Path has control.
Plissken avoiding damage as Path throws knees to the body.

Plissken is looking to break free of the clinch but Path has double underhooks.
Path has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Plissken avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

A decent looking cross lands there for Plissken.

Plissken throws a head kick that misses

so Path counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Path throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Path wants to control from the top but Plissken keeps moving.
Path wants to stand but Plissken is controlling his posture from full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

A close round but SD Plissken will probably get the nod.

Plissken shoots in looking for a takedown. Path tries to sprawl out of it but Plissken keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Path manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Path drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Plissken is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Plissken throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Plissken on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Path prevents Plissken from breaking the clinch.

Plissken wants to get back to striking at distance but Path won't allow it.
Path misses with a knee strike.
Path misses with a punch on the inside.
Plissken tries to pull guard but Path holds him up against the cage and eventually Plissken drops back down to his feet.

Path breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Plissken throws a series of strikes that have Path backpedaling.
Path fails to land the takedown.
Joey Path is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Plissken throws a head kick that half lands.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Plissken looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Path is fending him off so far but Plissken persists. Nope, Path circles away and we're back to standing.
Path fails with an attempt to clinch.
Path misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Plissken throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Path circles away from the clinch attempt.

Path shoots in and bounces Plissken off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Path won't allow Plissken to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Path throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Plissken pushes Path off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Path shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Plissken as he avoids it easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Path drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Plissken wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Path just leaning against Plissken, taking a breather.

Plissken pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Plissken shoots in looking for a takedown. Path tries to sprawl out of it but Plissken keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Path manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Path slips a jab and a cross from Plissken.
Plissken throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Path closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Path is just content to waste time from the top position. Plissken takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Plissken kicks Path off and gets to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Joey Path.
I think Path has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
