0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gerald Swessson! The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Swessson fails in his attempt to clinch. Adams is looking to counter with head kicks. Adams gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Swessson letting Adams take a breather here. Swessson tries to pull guard but Adams forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Swessson stalling the fight.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Swessson trying to control the position from guard on top but Adams is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Swessson wants to land a leg kick but Adams is out of range. Swessson misses with a takedown and Adams counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Swessson is lucky that one didn't land flush. Adams clinches. Swessson looking to slow down the pace here. Adams has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Swessson is trying to keep an underhook but Adams manages to get the takedown into half guard. Adams wants to work for an arm triangle but Swessson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Adams closes the distance and pushes Swessson back into the cage. Adams ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Adams no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Adams had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Swessson defends it easily. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Adams is on top in guard.

Adams scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Adams wants to get up but he can't break Swessson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Adams stands and steps away. Swessson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Adams drives through and clinches with Swessson against the cage.

Gerald Swessson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Andrew Adams is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Swessson shoots in looking for a takedown but Adams manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Swessson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
