The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Alexandre Firmino and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Faulkner displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Vasily.
Vasily throws a right hand that misses
and Faulkner counters with a nice uppercut.
Vasily shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Faulkner defends it nicely.
Vasily looks to throw the jab but Faulkner is out of range.
Vasily jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Vasily gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Faulkner to score an easy takedown into full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vasily really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Faulkner. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Faulkner decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
No joy there for Vasily, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Vasily closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Faulkner did well to prevent Vasily getting side control.

Vasily is looking to stall here but Faulkner recovers full guard.
Faulkner looking for a triangle here. Vasily is fighting it but it looks tight! Faulkner pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Vasily is tapping out - this one is all over!
