Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Witt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian Slater (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gabriel Witt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Christian Slater!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Chris Dean and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Witt looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Witt shoots in but no luck this time.

Slater instigates a clinch.
Slater softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Slater content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Witt is trying to break the clinch but Slater has him pressed against the cage.
Witt can't break the clinch.
Witt really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
A bit of stalling here from Slater.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Witt is looking to break free of the clinch but Slater has double underhooks.

Witt ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Witt no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Witt is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Witt will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Witt's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Witt is taking a breather. Slater says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Slater keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Slater is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Slater trying to control but Witt postures up.
Witt is trying to control the action in half guard but Slater is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Witt works his way into full mount!

Witt get's back to his feet.
Christian Slater seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Witt fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Slater has closed the distance and engaged Witt in a clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Witt's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Witt is trying to force a seperation but Slater has the dominant position.

Slater breaks from the clinch.

Witt looking to score a takedown here. Slater is defending well but Witt drives through and ends up in Slater's guard.

Slater has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Witt can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Witt seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Witt is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Witt avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Gabriel Witt will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Witt shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Slater but Slater pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Slater throws a big counter head kick but Witt avoids it with no problem.
Gabriel Witt is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Slater avoids the head kick by Witt.
Slater tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Witt scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Witt gets caught napping as Slater dives in and scores a takedown. Witt manages to retain guard.
Witt not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Slater won't allow Witt to sweep him here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Witt is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Slater stays in close to Witt's body and controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Slater decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Slater thows a left - swing and a miss!
Witt appears to be looking for a big counter.
Witt shoots in for a takedown but Slater shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Slater scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Witt manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Slater moves into the clinch.

Witt pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Slater pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Slater gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Witt showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Witt wants to control from the top but Slater keeps moving.

Slater is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Witt is controlling him.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Witt bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Slater is looking for a sweep.
Witt controls the position from side control.
Slater wants to control but Witt postures up.

Slater throws Witt to one side and escapes!
Slater looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Slater throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Witt tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Slater is in Witt's guard.
Witt looking to control.
Witt wants to sweep here but Slater controlling him for the moment.
Witt is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Witt looking to hit a scissor sweep but Slater is one step ahead there.
Witt has his hands on Slater's head, controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Christian Slater will probably get the nod - 10:9.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Witt scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Witt gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Witt is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Slater escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Witt fails with a takedown attempt.

Slater drives through and clinches with Witt against the cage.

Slater gets control of Witt's arms and successfully pulls guard. Slater will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Witt is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Slater is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Witt controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Witt wants to control from the top but Slater keeps moving.
Witt looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Slater had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Witt defends it easily.

Witt is stalling in the full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Slater misses with a two punch combination.
Witt thinks about countering with a body kick.
Witt looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Slater is fending him off so far but Witt persists. Nope, Slater circles away and we're back to standing.

Witt dips to his left and cracks Slater with an uppercut!
Witt misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Slater is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Witt looking to score a takedown here. Slater is defending well but Witt drives through and ends up in Slater's guard.

Slater pushes Witt off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Witt shoots for a double leg takedown but Slater sprawls well. He's pushed Witt's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Despite the aggression on Slater's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Witt avoids a punch combination nicely.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Slater has closed the distance and engaged Witt in a clinch.

And that's the end of the fight!
Christian Slater comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Slater has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
