Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Alberto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Georges Rocha!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Seu Braga and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left and a right from Alberto both land. Nice combination.

Rocha shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Rocha takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Rocha not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Alberto trying to control but Rocha postures up.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Rocha in particular looking to stall.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Alberto is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Rocha tries to pass the half guard into mount. Alberto knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Alberto is trying to maintain the position but Rocha is very close to passing his half guard.
Rocha is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rocha seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rocha thows a huge punch but Alberto dodges it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Alberto on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Rocha. Rocha obviously looking to wear him down.

and Rocha counters by moving into the clinch.

Rocha shoots in and drives through. Alberto sprawls well.
Rocha is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Alberto rushes Rocha and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Rocha drops down looking for an ankle pick but Alberto pulls his leg out and moves away.
Alberto avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rocha shoots in but Alberto avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Carlos Alberto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Georges Rocha.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rocha looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Alberto is avoiding damage well.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Alberto is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
You can see the frustration on Alberto's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Alberto wants to get back to his feet but Rocha drags him back down.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Alberto shoots in looking for a takedown. Rocha tries to sprawl out of it but Alberto keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rocha manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Rocha scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Alberto tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Alberto is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Rocha wants to pass the guard but Alberto is defending well.
Rocha seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Georges Rocha showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Rocha sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Alberto's guard.

Alberto tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Rocha has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Rocha controlling the pace for now.
Rocha with shots to the head and body - Alberto looks very uncomfortable down there.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Georges Rocha is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Rocha's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Let's hope that Rocha has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

I've got Rocha winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
