Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Trey Lawson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Korgan Bloodaxe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bloodaxe has chosen DMX - Ruff Ryders' Anthem as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Trey Lawson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Korgan Bloodaxe! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bloodaxe lands a jab. Lawson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Bloodaxe counters with a straight right hand. Bloodaxe jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
We've been hearing reports that Lawson has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Bloodaxe wants to clinch up but Lawson keeps it at a distance. Lawson misses the shot to the body. Nice body kick from Bloodaxe. No joy there for Bloodaxe, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Lawson attempts a counter takedown but Bloodaxe avoids it well and moves away. Korgan Bloodaxe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lawson on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lawson throws a push kick but Bloodaxe slaps the foot to one side. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Bloodaxe! But no joy. Lawson throws a leg kick but Bloodaxe checks it. Bloodaxe scores with a hook to the body. Lawson takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Bloodaxe misses the jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bloodaxe throws a leg kick and Lawson counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Bloodaxe! Lawson working the body and head with strikes. Bloodaxe taking punishment in the form of punches.
Lawson working the ground and pound but Bloodaxe is defending the strikes. Bloodaxe is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Bloodaxe parries the strikes from Lawson easily there. Lawson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Bloodaxe to escape.
Lawson wants to control but Bloodaxe is keeping him busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bloodaxe is trying to buck Lawson off. Bloodaxe avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Lawson. Lawson throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Bloodaxe parries the strikes from Lawson easily there. Lawson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Bloodaxe to escape.
Check out the look on Lawson's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Bloodaxe takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bloodaxe avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Lawson. Bloodaxe is looking for a sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lawson scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Bloodaxe to see if he's OK.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bloodaxe is working to avoid the ground and pound but Lawson connects with a decent elbow. Lawson lands a decent elbow from side control.
Bloodaxe is rocked! Bloodaxe takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Bloodaxe is still in real trouble! Can Lawson finish him? Lawson trying to control the action but Bloodaxe is working from the bottom. A big shot lands for Lawson! That's hurt Bloodaxe! Will he recover? Lawson fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
