Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Clement Giles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Makwan Lak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Clement Giles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Makwan Lak! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lak decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Giles is positioning himself well to prevent Lak advancing to mount. Giles is not content to let Lak control the position. Lak is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Lak trying to pass the guard but Giles defending well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Giles keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lak passes into side control, despite Giles's attempt to control the position.
Lak trying to control the position but Giles is working away. Lak looking to control but instead Giles has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Lak throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Giles keeps control of the position for the meantime.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Giles stuffs the takedown. Lak lands a jab-cross combination. Giles scores with a takedown into Lak's guard. Lak has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Giles off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Makwan Lak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lak fails to land with a series of punches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Giles shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lak pinned against the cage. Lak gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Lak steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Giles. Giles takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lak. Giles throws a big counter combination but Lak scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Giles drives through with a takedown into Lak's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lak looking for a sweep. Not yet Lak, not yet. Giles trying to control the position from guard on top but Lak is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lak trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Lak working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Giles has passed into half guard!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lak trying to control but Giles postures up.
Lak looks winded! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Lak wants to improve his position but Giles is controlling well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Makwan Lak dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Lak throws a head kick but Giles moves out of range.
Giles misses with a takedown attempt - Lak sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Lak circles away from the clinch attempt.
Lak looks like he wants to counter punch here. Lak has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Lak looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Lak looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Giles! You can see the frustration on Giles's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lak thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Lak throws an elbow but Giles slips to the side and avoids it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lak working away. Giles really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Giles is looking to reverse the position. Giles sneaks back into half guard. Giles is refusing to be controlled, as Lak sits in half guard. Giles is looking for a sweep. Lak is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Lak looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Giles has his hands clasped together around Lak's back. He's all about the action. Lak controlling the action here.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lak turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Lak drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Giles tries to bench press Lak off him but Lak keeps the position. Lak tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Lak fails to land a wild elbow strike.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Giles has one of Lak's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage. Lak controls the position. Lak throws a strike aimed at the side of Giles's head but Giles avoids it well. Makwan Lak has got the better of the ground game so far. Lak trying to control the action but Giles is working from the bottom. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Giles gets back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Makwan Lak showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Giles's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Giles feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Giles trying to control but Lak is working from the bottom. Lak looking to hit a scissor sweep but Giles is one step ahead there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lak wants to control the position but Giles says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lak is trying to control but can't.

Lak flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Giles content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Giles is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lak doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Giles. Giles wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lak keeps working.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Giles shoots in for a double leg but Lak sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Giles fails with an attempt to clinch.
Lak shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Lak was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Giles wants to control but Lak postures up. Both fighters are breathing heavily. You can see the frustration on Giles's face as Lak controls the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lak working away. Giles tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Lak easily slips into full mount! Lak with a couple of short strikes. Lak prevents Giles from getting the reversal. Lak punching from mount but Giles doing a good job of avoiding damage. Lak controlling his opponent. Lak misses with a head shot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lak controlling from the full mount. Lak thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Lak with good strikes from the mount here! Lak get's back to his feet. Clement Giles is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Lak gets a double leg takedown into Giles's guard. Giles keeping moving, preventing Lak from controlling successfully. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Lak has gone for a leg lock! Giles slips out almost immediately though and dives into Lak's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Makwan Lak comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Lak has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
