Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hunter Vasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ashina Jiesheshuai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Hunter Vasquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ashina Jiesheshuai!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jiesheshuai dives in and scores a takedown into Vasquez's guard.
Vasquez is looking to stand up but Jiesheshuai isn't so interested in that idea.
Jiesheshuai wants to control from the top but Vasquez keeps moving.
Jiesheshuai trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Jiesheshuai is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Vasquez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Vasquez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jiesheshuai's guard.


Vasquez decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jiesheshuai, up you get!
Vasquez comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Jiesheshuai shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Vasquez's guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Vasquez bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Vasquez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jiesheshuai on the ground.
Vasquez looks up at the clock and then as Jiesheshuai takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Vasquez smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Vasquez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Vasquez lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Jiesheshuai down.
Jiesheshuai takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Vasquez stands up.

Vasquez drives through with a takedown into Jiesheshuai's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Jiesheshuai throws his legs up looking for a submission but Vasquez uses it to pass to side control.

Vasquez decides to stand back up. Vasquez steps back and let's Jiesheshuai get back to his feet.

Jiesheshuai tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Vasquez wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Jiesheshuai is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Vasquez's half guard.
Vasquez is concentrating on defense, preventing Jiesheshuai from advancing position.

Vasquez has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Jiesheshuai has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Vasquez has hold of one of Jiesheshuai's legs. Jiesheshuai is fighting the takedown attempt but Vasquez gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Jiesheshuai shoots in and bounces Vasquez off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Vasquez is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Vasquez pulls guard successfully.
Jiesheshuai stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vasquez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Vasquez manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Jiesheshuai is fighting off a takedown attempt but Vasquez is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Jiesheshuai to the mat. Jiesheshuai regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Vasquez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jiesheshuai has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Vasquez has managed to get both his arms back between Jiesheshuai's legs - danger averted.

Vasquez fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jiesheshuai to the ground. Vasquez is now in Jiesheshuai's guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Vasquez holds on and takes a little breather.

Jiesheshuai is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Vasquez is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Vasquez has escaped and now he's on top!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vasquez connects with a couple of short punches.

Vasquez gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Jiesheshuai escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vasquez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
