Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marake Burate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ulf Ek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Marake Burate! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ulf Ek! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Ivan Kurochkin and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ek decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Ek lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Ek scoring with strikes to the body and head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Burate controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Burate wants to control but Ek is keeping busy.
Burate's coaches at Flower Power Pillow Fighters Training Center have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Ek missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Ek throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ek wants to pass to mount but Burate is defending the position. Ek looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Burate is trying to get back to full guard. Burate is working hard here to advance position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ek seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Burate does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Ek is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Burate avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ek. Ek thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ek working Burate over with strikes. Burate tries to get to full guard but Ek has control of the leg. Ek trying to mount his opponent but Burate defends it. Burate is concentrating on defense, preventing Ek from advancing position. Ek is controlling the pace.
Ek is keen to just control but Burate is a slippery customer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ek tries to pass the half guard into mount. Burate knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Burate is looking to improve his position.
Ek lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Ek not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Ek is figuring out what he wants to do next. Burate is positioning himself well to prevent Ek advancing to mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ek not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Burate wants to get back to full guard. Ek missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Ek content to control rather than advance. Ek sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Burate defending well though. Ek not landing any meaningful shots this time. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Burate is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ek's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ek's back! Burate not allowing Ek to control his hands.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ek rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Burate prevents Ek from improving his position. Ek looking for submissions off his back. Ek trying to hold on to Burate's head to control him but Burate postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ek wants to improve his position but Burate is controlling well.

Ulf Ek dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Burate connects with a single shot there. Burate throws a hook but Ek blocks it. Ek throws a jab but it's blocked by Burate. Burate throws a body punch but Ek moves out of range. Good exchange - Ek coming out on top. Ek lands a glancing blow to the side of Burate's head. Burate lands with a cross. Burate throws a head kick that misses and Ek counters with a takedown into side control. This has been an exciting period of action! Burate is trying to control Ek's posture but Ek avoids it. Ek controlling the position. Ek wants to control but Burate is keeping him busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burate manages to work his way to half guard, despite Ek's best efforts. Ek missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Burate on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Ek with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Ek is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Burate tries to get to full guard but Ek has control of the leg. Burate avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ek.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ek stalling away here and it's allowed Burate to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Ek looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Ek throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Burate being controlled here, momentarily. Ek trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burate has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Ek is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Ulf Ek has got the better of the ground game so far. Ek is fighting to break Burate's control of his arms but Burate is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Burate is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Ek is trying to maintain the position but Burate is very close to passing his half guard. Ek is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ek makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Ek. Ek wants to improve his position but instead Burate has moved into half guard.
Burate is trying to control the action in half guard but Ek is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Ek tries to roll over but Burate keeps him under control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Burate wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ek keeps working. Ek trying to control from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ulf Ek showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Burate lands with an uppercut that bounces Ek off the cage and back into range. Ek throws out a loose jab but Burate uses good head movement to avoid it. Burate swings for the body but Ek moves out of range.
Ek misses with a left hand and Burate counters with a nice uppercut. Burate on the wrong end of a nice jab. Ek swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ek takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Ek loads up on a big right hand but Burate slips the punch. Burate connects with a nice looking jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ek lands with a shot to the body. Burate swings for the body but Ek moves out of range.
Ek fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Burate manages to avoid it. Burate lands a nice shot to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ek lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Ek lands a jab to Burate's midsection. Ek avoids the body shot from Burate.
Ek throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Marake Burate is winning the standup battle so far. Burate misses with a head kick.
Burate lands with a right hand. A slow jab from Ek misses its intended target. Ek blocks a jab. Burate lands with a kick to the temple. Ek shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Burate throws a lazy uppercut
and Ek counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. This has been an exciting period of action! Ek sitting in guard, not really doing much. Burate keeping moving, preventing Ek from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Burate looking to control.
Ek has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Ek postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Burate looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Ek postures up in Burate's guard and throws a big left but Burate blocks it. Ek is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Ek is in close to Burate's body, working some short punches and elbows.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burate is pulling down on Ek's head to control his posture. Burate tries to land a sweep but no joy. Ek wants to control from the top but Burate keeps moving.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Ulf Ek is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Ek throws a lazy right hand but Burate sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Ek comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Ek looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Burate drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Ek scores with the left hand. Burate knows he should have avoided that one. Ek blocks a jab. Burate throws a hook but Ek avoids it easily. Ek with a jab. Burate avoids the body shot from Ek.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Burate misses with an uppercut. Ek saw that one coming. Ek tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Burate misses with a straight left. Burate displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ek throws out the jab. Burate feinted with a counter takedown. Nice straight punches there by Burate. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Burate. Ek scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Burate is not content to let Ek control the position. Ek might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Burate haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
And that's the end of the fight! Ulf Ek comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Ek winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
