And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frankie Malone!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malone gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Malone walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
We've been hearing reports that Santaros has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Malone takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Santaros thuds his right hand into Malone's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Santaros looks to score with a jab to the body but Malone is just out of range.
Santaros loads up on a big right hand but Malone slips the punch.
Santaros looks to land a left hand but Malone moved out of range nicely.
Malone misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Santaros drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Santaros is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Malone knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Malone is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Santaros asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Santaros connects with a nice short shot to Malone's temple.
Malone is trying to get back to full guard.
Santaros is looking to take a break and control but Malone is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Malone is trying to maintain the position but Santaros is very close to passing his half guard.
Malone is doing well to control the position and prevent Santaros from advancing to side control.
Santaros is keen to just control but Malone is a slippery customer.

Santaros has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Malone is working away from the top position though.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Malone manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Malone throws a knee to the head but misses.

Malone wants to take the fight to the mat but Santaros manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Malone throws an elbow that misses.

Malone pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Malone lands a big head kick that sends Santaros tumbling to the mat! Malone takes a step backwards and waves Santaros back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Frankie Malone seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Malone lands a nice leg kick that just misses Santaros's sensitive parts.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Malone.

Malone forces Santaros back against the cage and clinches.
Santaros prevents Malone from breaking the clinch.
Malone trying to land knees to the body.
Santaros blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Santaros throws a punch but it's blocked by Malone.
Malone tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Santaros pulls Malone into guard.
Santaros is trying to keep Malone in close.
Malone wants to control from the top but Santaros keeps moving.

Malone stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Santaros swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Malone is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Malone has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Malone accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Santaros has his foot on Malone's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Malone works his way back into a safe position though.

Santaros is looking to cinch up a triangle. Malone throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Santaros's body to avoid the submission. Santaros has instead reached around Malone's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Santaros arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Dexter Santaros!
Dexter Santaros really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Perkele! logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
