Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rudi Dassler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Verama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Verama has chosen Swing It Away as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hector Verama!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dassler moves away from the strike by Verama.
Dassler drops down looking for a counter takedown but Verama sprawls and moves away.
Nice takedown defense from Verama. No joy for Dassler on that attempt.
Dassler misses with a takedown attempt - Verama sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Verama swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Verama ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dassler moves away.
Verama uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dassler.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Dassler shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Verama as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rudi Dassler. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dassler is defended easily by Verama.

Verama closes the distance and clinches.
Verama lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Dassler.
Dassler has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Verama uses from the top position.

Verama uses his free foot to push down on Dassler's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Dassler.

Dassler is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Dassler has hold of Verama's leg, trying to break free but it's let Verama lock up a rear naked choke! This could be big trouble! Dassler is turning an unusual color here… he's out! Verama throws him to one side and jumps onto the cage to celebrate with his fans.
