Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Michael Smit! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Miller! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smit throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Miller. Miller ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Smit tries to clinch up but Miller circles away and keeps his distance. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Miller throws a big shot that misses. Smit appears to be looking for a big counter. Smit wants to clinch. Smit throws a head kick that Miller semi-blocks.
Miller scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. A head kick misses from Smit. A little jabbing left from Miller on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Smit tries to close the distance and clinch up but Miller swats him away and circles back towards the center. Smit throws a right and a left that both miss. Miller feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Smits jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
It looks like Michael Smit has been cut. No joy there for Miller, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Miller swats away the attempt to clinch by Smit. Smit fails in his attempt to clinch. Michael Smit seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Smit tries to clinch but Miller is having none of it. Miller scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Smit is breathing heavily. Smit closes the distance but Miller moves to the side and Miller counters with a straight right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miller lands with a big right hook that stumbles Smit - he's out on his feet here! Miller follows up with another monster hook that separates Smit from consciousness! Smit falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Miller stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jack Miller! During a confident post fight interview, Jack Miller thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
