Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cam Newton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Newton's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Superman. Cam Newton has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cam Newton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Fedor Hunt!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Nard Betker and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hunt fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Newton sprawls well initially but Hunt persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Newton is not content to let Hunt control the position.
Hunt stops Newton from getting back to his feet.
Hunt seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Newton does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Hunt passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Newton!
Hunt can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Newton is looking to escape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hunt goes for an armbar but Newton turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Newton.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Newton avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Newton tries to stand but Hunt is controlling from the bottom.
Newton will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Hunt seems keen to control Newton's posture.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hunt tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Newton has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hunt is proving hard to escape from.

Hunt working for a triangle but Newton defends it easily.
Hunt being controlled here, momentarily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Newton would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Newton throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hunt goes for a double leg but Newton avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the ropes as Newton continues to drive forward.
Hunt throws a predictable looking body shot
enabling Newton to counter with a crisp jab.

Newton drops Hunt with a beautiful combination! Hunt stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Newton is looking for the KO!


It looks like Fedor Hunt has been cut.

Newton lands a big right hand that sends Hunt crashing to the mat! Newton stays standing though and waves Hunt back to his feet!


Hunt is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hunt drops his hands for a split second and Newton immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Hunt face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Newton follows up with a right hand that knocks Hunt into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Cam Newton!
After the fight, Cam Newton was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
