Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
23 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brownie Anderson! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
28 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johan Axelsson! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Good shot there by Anderson. Anderson lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Axelsson misses with a straight right. Anderson connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Axelsson's hands. Axelsson connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Axelsson gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
It looks like Johan Axelsson has been cut. Anderson throws a lazy right hand but Axelsson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Anderson advances to half guard. Axelsson might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Anderson walks straight into an uppercut. Anderson lands a nice leg kick that just misses Axelsson's sensitive parts. Axelsson throws a body punch but Anderson moves out of range.
