Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between sumyoun guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Forrest Murs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murs has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. sumyoun guy has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, sumyoun guy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Forrest Murs! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Donald Grub and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! guy shoots in and bounces Murs off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. guy in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. guy chips away with some ground and pound. guy decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. guy throws a right hand that Murs ducks under and follows up with a left that Murs also avoids with ease. Murs connects with the punch. Murs throws a head kick but guy moves out of range.
Murs looks gassed! Excellent takedown into side control there by guy. guy working the head and body with strikes. guy lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Murs down.
Murs is looking for a sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. guy creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Check out the look on guy's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Murs is breathing heavily. guy gets to his feet - Murs follows without any prompting. Murs tries to clinch but fails miserably and guy counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by guy.

There ya go! guy is stalling in the full guard. guy scoring with punches to the head and body. guy stands up over Murs, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. guy not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. guy postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Murs is looking for a triangle but guy pushes his legs off easily.
Murs has an active guard here but guy has managed to pass into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. guy is taking a breather. Murs says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. sumyoun guy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. guy lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Murs has hold of guy's hands but guy slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with guy in particular looking to stall.

Murs tries to kick guy off but guy keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. guy is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Murs has managed to free his arm - good work. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. guy lands a nice short elbow. Murs tries to roll over but guy keeps him under control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. guy avoids the head kick by Murs.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nice takedown defense from Murs. No joy for guy on that attempt.

Murs swivels though and keeps the full guard. Murs has his foot on guy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. guy works his way back into a safe position though. guy controlling from the top position. Murs wants to stand up but guy is controlling him. Forrest Murs has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! sumyoun guy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Murs has an active guard here but guy has managed to pass into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! sumyoun guy showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for guy, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
