Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alex Phillips (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Anthony (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Richard Anthony will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alex Phillips!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Richard Anthony!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Fedor Mirinova and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Anthony gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Anthony is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Phillips is aware though and is defending well.
Phillips might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Phillips would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Phillips slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Anthony keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Phillips's head.

That was a close round but I would say that Alex Phillips will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Anthony will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Phillips seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

Anthony is trying to trip Phillips. He has hold of a leg but Phillips is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Anthony persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Alex Phillips.
