Schwarz has chosen Benzin as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith clinches with his opponent.
Schwarz looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Smith manages to pull guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Schwarz!

Schwarz is squirming around, avoiding Smith's attempts to control the action.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Paul Smith.
Smith ducks under a wild hook from Schwarz.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smith swings for the body but Schwarz moves out of range.
A nice leg kick lands there from Smith.
Schwarz throws an overhand right that lands on Smith's shoulder, as Smith tries to avoid the shot.

Smith closes the distance and clinches.
Schwarz wants to break free but Smith has control.

Schwarz tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Smith just stands there and leans against the cage.

Smith jumps into guard, dragging Schwarz to the mat.

Smith working for a triangle but Schwarz defends it easily.
Smith pulls Schwarz in close to prevent any damage.
Schwarz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Smith bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Schwarz's guard.
Smith is in close to Schwarz's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Smith decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Schwarz, up you get!
Smith blocks the body kick.
Smith fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Schwarz wants to break free but Smith has control.
Smith prevents Schwarz from breaking the clinch.
Schwarz using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Smith has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Smith breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Smith throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Schwarz goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Smith slips a jab and a cross from Schwarz.

Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Smith is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Schwarz is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
