Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Renji Abarai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sebastien Ostereguy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abarai comes to the ring accompanied by Before I Forget. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sebastien Ostereguy! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shirou Masuda and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Abarai avoids a punch combination nicely.
Abarai drops down looking for a counter takedown but Ostereguy sprawls and moves away. Ostereguy throws a combination that misses and Abarai counters with a shoot takedown. Ostereguy fights it but they end up in guard. Abarai controls from within his opponent's guard. Ostereguy is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Ostereguy is looking for a triangle but Abarai pushes his legs off easily.

Ostereguy felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Ostereguy is trying to get back to full guard. Ostereguy actively working from the bottom here. Abarai definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Ostereguy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Abarai can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Abarai uses his free foot to push down on Ostereguy's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ostereguy. Abarai avoids the attempt from Ostereguy to control. Abarai with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Abarai has hold of Ostereguy's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Ostereguy manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Ostereguy tries to lock up and control but Abarai gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Abarai has control of Ostereguy's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Ostereguy regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Ostereguy is in all sorts of trouble here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Abarai stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Jab by Ostereguy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Renji Abarai dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Abarai is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ostereguy can do to turn this around? Ostereguy misses with a double jab.

Abarai throws a right and a left that both miss. Ostereguy throws a counter combo. Ostereguy moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Ostereguy fails to land with a series of punches.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. No luck for Abarai with that takedown attempt. Ostereguy misses with a two punch combination.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ostereguy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ostereguy wants it to stay on the feet. Renji Abarai is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Abarai dives in for a single leg takedown but Ostereguy sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the ropes. It seemed like Ostereguy was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Renji Abarai. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ostereguy shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Abarai eats them both and turns towards Ostereguy to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Abarai throws a leg kick but Ostereguy sees it coming and checks it nicely. Ostereguy lets loose with a powerful body kick. Abarai will feel that in the morning. Sebastien Ostereguy seems to be getting the better of the standup. Abarai fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ostereguy avoids it really well and circles away. Ostereguy lands with a shot to the body. Ostereguy fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Abarai on the side of the head. Abarai tries to close the distance and clinch but Ostereguy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Ostereguy lands a big head kick that sends Abarai tumbling to the mat! Ostereguy takes a step backwards and waves Abarai back to his feet - he wants the finish!
