Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jose Rodri!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Rodri as Captain Hook shoots in.
Captain Hook swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Rodri counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Captain Hook wants to get back to striking at distance but Rodri won't allow it.
Rodri breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A combination from Rodri does no damage.
Captain Hook lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Captain Hook.
It looks like Jose Rodri has been cut.
Rodri throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Captain Hook motions for Rodri to come forward. Captain Hook throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Rodri takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Rodri closes the distance and pushes Captain Hook back into the ropes.
Rodri manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Rodri pulls Captain Hook in close to prevent any damage.
Captain Hook postures up in Rodri's guard and throws a big left but Rodri blocks it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rodri is looking to stand up but Captain Hook isn't so interested in that idea.

Captain Hook tries to stand but Rodri is controlling from the bottom.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Captain Hook drops back looking for a leg! Rodri is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rodri manages to kick Captain Hook off! Captain Hook jumps back into Rodri's guard.
Rodri controls Captain Hook momentarily but Captain Hook frees himself.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Captain Hook trying to control the position from guard on top but Rodri is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Captain Hook drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rodri manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Captain Hook has Rodri in his guard.
Rodri got a little sloppy there for a moment and Captain Hook has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rodri has managed to get both his arms back between Captain Hook's legs - danger averted.
Captain Hook is trying to control the position but Rodri postures up.

Captain Hook wants to stand but Rodri is controlling the position.
Rodri stands up and waves to Captain Hook to follow him.
Captain Hook misses with a jab, cross combination.
Captain Hook sets himself, and Rodri steps forward looking for the clinch! Captain Hook avoids it this time.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Rodri gets the takedown into side control.
Captain Hook manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Captain Hook will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Rodri is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Captain Hook's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Captain Hook's back!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round but I would say that Berg Captain Hook will probably get the nod.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Captain Hook lands a two punch combo.
Captain Hook looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Rodri swats away the attempt to clinch by Captain Hook.
Captain Hook throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rodri.
Rodri looks for a takedown but Captain Hook sprawls well.

and Rodri counters with a nice double leg into side control. Captain Hook won't be happy with that.

Captain Hook could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Rodri postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Rodri creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Captain Hook sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Rodri really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Captain Hook. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Captain Hook enables Rodri to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Captain Hook manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Captain Hook had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rodri defends it easily.
Captain Hook wants to get back to his feet but Rodri is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Rodri working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Captain Hook's head.
Rodri must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Rodri works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Rodri is looking to advance position but Captain Hook won't allow it.
Captain Hook has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Rodri. Oh but Captain Hook has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Rodri goes limp - he's gone! Captain Hook jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
