Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kristof Velez! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dwayne Perry! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Velez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Perry uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Velez. Perry connects with a jab. A swing and a miss from Velez. Perry uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Velez. Velez throws a lazy right hand but Perry sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Excellent takedown into side control there by Perry. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Perry lands a few punches from side control. Perry misses with the ground and pound. Velez is trying to buck Perry off. Perry wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Velez, who protects the arm well. Perry scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Velez waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Perry. Perry has taken the fight to the clinch.

Perry shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Perry showed some decent athleticism there. Perry with the ground and pound but Velez uses the opportunity to regain guard. Perry wants to control from the top but Velez keeps moving. Velez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Perry thows a big elbow that misses. Velez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Perry drops back for a leg! Velez tries to bum rush Perry with a series of wild strikes but Perry uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Perry rushes Velez and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Perry drops down looking for an ankle pick but Velez pulls his leg out and moves away.
Perry ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Perry decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Perry stops Velez from getting back to his feet.

Perry looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Perry lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Perry wants to take a breather but Velez is having none of it. Perry not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Dwayne Perry has got the better of the ground game so far. Perry thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Perry is looking for a kimura but Velez is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Perry to get the leverage. Perry scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Perry thumps the canvas. It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Perry fails with an attempt to clinch.
Velez throws the left hand but Perry avoids the punch easily. Velez throws a hook to the side of Perry's head but Perry sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Velez shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Velez misses with a straight left. Perry is looking to clinch. Perry escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Velez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Perry moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Velez drops his hands momentarily and Perry takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Perry connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Perry rushes Velez and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Perry breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Perry wants to clinch. Kristof Velez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Perry scores a takedown into full mount! Perry dominating with strikes here. Velez is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Velez escapes and throws Perry's legs to the side, diving into side control! Perry tries to bench press Velez off him but Velez keeps the position. Velez wants to stand but Perry has his arm trapped.

Perry prevents Velez from escaping the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Dwayne Perry comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Perry has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
