Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Karl Eddard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zod Wettin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Karl Eddard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 1, fighting out of London, Zod Wettin! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Matti Vanhoillinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wettin looking to score a takedown here. Eddard is defending well but Wettin drives through and ends up in Eddard's guard. Wettin missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Eddard keeping moving, preventing Wettin from controlling successfully. Eddard trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wettin is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Wettin sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Eddard's guard. Eddard is trying to get back to full guard. Wettin is keen to just control but Eddard is a slippery customer. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Eddard is doing well to control the position and prevent Wettin from advancing to side control. Wettin scoring with strikes to the body and head. Eddard's coaches at Den of Tears (22 coaches) have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Ground and pound from Wettin. Eddard throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wettin tries to pass the half guard into mount. Eddard knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Wettin looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Wettin throwing shots but Eddard is blocking nicely. Wettin not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Wettin is nestled in close to Eddard, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Wettin missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Eddard trying to control from the bottom.
Wettin is keen to just control but Eddard is a slippery customer. My spies in FIERCE inform me that Wettin has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Eddard is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Wettin is looking to take a break and control but Eddard is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wettin with the ground and pound but Eddard uses the opportunity to regain guard. Wettin trying to control the position from guard on top but Eddard is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Wettin is fighting to break Eddard's control of his arms but Eddard is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Wettin wants to pass the guard but Eddard is keeping the position. Wettin wants to control from the top but Eddard keeps moving. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Wettin stopping the sweep attempt from Eddard. Wettin makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Wettin distracts Eddard with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Eddard looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wettin is one step ahead there.

Eddard looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Wettin is looking to work some ground and pound but Eddard has wrist control. Wettin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Wettin is pushing down on Eddard's leg trying to pass to half guard. Eddard is fighting to maintain full guard but Wettin has managed to sneak the leg through. Nice strikes from Wettin there. Wettin stalling away here and it's allowed Eddard to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Wettin wants to pass the guard but Eddard is keeping the position. Wettin looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Eddard is controlling Wettin's posture. Eddard looking for a sweep. Not yet Eddard, not yet. Wettin seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Eddard is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Wettin with a nice head shot there. Wettin won't allow Eddard to sweep him here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Eddard is on top in guard.

Zod Wettin dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Eddard decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Wettin is trying to get back to full guard. Wettin is still trying to improve position. Wettin preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Wettin tries to roll over but Eddard keeps him under control. Eddard is nestled in close to Wettin, controlling him well. That's one minute gone in the round. Eddard takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Wettin has hold of Eddard's hands but Eddard slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Wettin is looking for a sweep. Eddard is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Eddard lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Wettin wants to get back to full guard but Eddard has mounted him! Eddard scoring with strikes but Wettin is staying in there. Wettin tries to hold on but Eddard postures up. Eddard landing shots from mount. Karl Eddard overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Eddard avoids the attempt from Wettin to control. Eddard working Wettin over with strikes here. Eddard scores with a couple of good head shots there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Eddard with shots to the head and body - Wettin looks very uncomfortable down there. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Eddard trying to control but he's not successful this time. Wettin is in a horrible position here. Eddard smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Eddard is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Wettin can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Wettin bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Eddard working a defensive guard but Wettin manages to pass into side control anyway.
Eddard tries to buck Wettin off but Wettin is having none of it. Eddard is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Eddard is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Wettin scores with a couple of nice shots. Wettin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Eddard's head. Wettin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Wettin wants to take a breather but Eddard is having none of it.

Eddard is trying to maintain the position but Wettin is very close to passing his half guard. Wettin lands with a punch from half guard. Wettin content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Wettin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Eddard's head. Wettin looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Wettin is keen to just control but Eddard is a slippery customer.

Wettin working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Eddard is doing well to control the position and prevent Wettin from advancing to side control. Eddard trying to control here.
Wettin takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Wettin missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Wettin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Eddard keeps working. Eddard wants to get back to full guard but Wettin has passed into side control. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Karl Eddard dominated that second round. That's time! Eddard's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!
Eddard works the jab nicely. Wettin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Eddard is fending him off so far but Wettin persists. Nope, Eddard circles away and we're back to standing. Nice body punch from Eddard. Wettin with a lazy takedown attempt letting Eddard counter with a right hand. Wettin fails with a takedown attempt. Karl Eddard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zod Wettin. Wettin takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wettin fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Eddard thuds a left hand into Wettin's body. Wettin takes one to the side of the head.
Eddard lands a jab to the nose.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice shot by Eddard. Wettin shoots in but no luck this time. Wettin fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Eddard to the ground. Wettin is now in Eddard's guard. Wettin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Eddard tries to land a sweep but no joy. Eddard manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Wettin manages to get himself to full guard.
Eddard postures up in Wettin's guard and throws a big left but Wettin blocks it. Eddard has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Wettin is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Eddard rolls with it to try and escape but Wettin cranks on the arm and Eddard is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
