Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Demarcus Hurley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Wells (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Max Wells enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Demarcus Hurley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Max Wells!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wells has Hurley up against the cage in a clinch.
Hurley wants to take the fight to the mat but Wells manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Hurley successfully pulls guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hurley wants to get back to his feet but Wells passes into half guard.
Wells is looking to advance position but Hurley won't allow it.
Wells thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Wells is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Hurley wants to improve his position but Wells is controlling well.
Wells takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wells wants to pass the guard but Hurley is defending well.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Hurley is looking for a sweep. Wells is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Hurley has a hand on Wells's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Wells takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Wells landing strikes, looking to finish!
Hurley is trying desperately to improve position.
Wells sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Hurley sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Wells prevents Hurley from improving his position.
Hurley won't allow Wells to pass to mount.
Wells is keen to just control but Hurley is a slippery customer.
Hurley is trying to stand up here but Wells is controlling him well.
Wells seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hurley does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wells is trying to control. Hurley wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Wells decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Hurley gets tackled into the cage by Wells. Wells maintains the clinch.
Hurley tries to pull guard but Wells forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Hurley's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Hurley tries to keep at a distance but Wells has taken the fight into the clinch.

Wells has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Hurley is trying to keep an underhook but Wells manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Hurley manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Wells keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Wells throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hurley drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Wells gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Demarcus Hurley. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hurley is looking to break free of the clinch but Wells has double underhooks.

Wells gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Hurley regains guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wells trying to control the position from guard on top but Hurley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Wells is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Wells must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Hurley bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wells's guard.

Wells has momentary wrist control but Hurley slips an elbow through the middle.
Hurley content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Hurley throws a strike but Wells rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Hurley looking for a sweep. Not yet Hurley, not yet.
Wells lands a couple of elbows.
Hurley will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Hurley keeping moving, preventing Wells from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Max Wells dominated that round.
That's time! Hurley's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Hurley walks into a stiff left hand from Wells.
Left hook, right uppercut from Wells.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Hurley gets underhooks to prevent Wells's takedown attempt.

Hurley has clasped his hands together around Wells's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Wells tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Wells really wants to buck Hurley off and get back to his feet.

Hurley is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Wells has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Wells!

Hurley looking for a sweep. Not yet Hurley, not yet.
Wells controls from within his opponent's guard.

Hurley working for submissions but it's allowed Wells to get to half guard.
Wells missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Wells has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Wells is trying to control the action in half guard but Hurley is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Wells throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Wells wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hurley keeps working.
Wells seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Wells seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hurley does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Hurley kicks Wells off and gets back to his feet.

Hurley rushes Wells and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Wells tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Wells wants to take the fight to the mat but Hurley manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Demarcus Hurley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Wells.

Wells is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Hurley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Wells is breathing heavily.

Wells with a flurry of punches that miss.
Wells wants to get up but he can't break Hurley's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Max Wells will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Hurley has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Wells regains guard immediately.
Wells looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Hurley puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Wells wants to improve his position but Hurley is controlling well.

Hurley is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Wells defends it well.

Wells avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hurley.
Hurley seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Hurley is looking for a kimura but Wells is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hurley to get the leverage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Wells is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hurley lands strikes from half guard.

Wells is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hurley pulls his head out easily.
Wells is trying to stand.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Wells fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hurley, pushing him back against the cage.

Hurley manages to pull guard.

Hurley is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Wells presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Wells lands a hook to the side of the head.
Wells is trying to pull guard but Hurley has him pressed against the cage.
Wells takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Hurley manages to pull guard.
Hurley is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Wells is controlling him.

Hurley manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Wells manages to get himself to full guard.

Wells not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hurley stands up over Wells, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Hurley cracks Wells with a solid left hand.

Wells looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Hurley has picked Wells up and slammed him! Wells can't keep hold of the triangle and Hurley manages to pass to side control!
Wells tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Hurley presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Hurley is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Hurley fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Demarcus Hurley has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Max Wells is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Demarcus Hurley showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Wells has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
