Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rocky Elsom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Bravo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnny Bravo will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rocky Elsom! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Johnny Bravo! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Eliza Hachem and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Elsom misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Bravo stuffs the takedown attempt from Elsom. Elsom gets slowly back to his feet. Elsom throws a head kick that misses. Bravo bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Bravo working the ground and pound but Elsom is defending the strikes. Bravo working the ground and pound. Bravo stands up and we're back to a striking position. Bravo's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Bravo duly obliges. A combination from Bravo does no damage. Elsom throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bravo sees it coming and avoids it easily. Elsom darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bravo wants to stand back up but Elsom manages to pass into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round. Bravo manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Elsom seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bravo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Bravo pushes Elsom off but Elsom dives into side control.
Bravo is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Elsom's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Bravo is looking for a sweep. Elsom is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Elsom prevents Bravo from standing back up.
Bravo wants to improve his position but Elsom is controlling well.
Elsom thows a huge punch but Bravo dodges it nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Bravo is refusing to be controlled, as Elsom sits in half guard. Elsom slows the pace down in half guard. Elsom drops an elbow to the side of Bravo's head. Bravo pushes Elsom off looking to stand but Elsom dives back in and keeps control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bravo can do anything to dispel that myth.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Elsom looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Bravo throws a body kick that misses. Elsom gets the takedown into side control. Elsom looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Elsom is breathing heavily. Elsom wants to control but Bravo is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Elsom misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Elsom working away. Elsom trying to control the action but Bravo is working from the bottom. You can see the frustration on Bravo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Elsom prevents Bravo from escaping the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Bravo bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Bravo throws a low kick but it's checked well by Elsom. Bravo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Elsom counters with a single leg into guard. Bravo didn't expect that. Bravo tries to strike from the bottom.
Elsom throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Elsom works a leg free and moves into half guard. Ground and pound from Elsom. Still in half guard, Elsom seems content to control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Elsom seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bravo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Rocky Elsom will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Bravo has his takedown stuffed and Elsom counters with a shoot takedown. Bravo fights it but they end up in guard. Elsom slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Bravo throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Elsom trying to control but Bravo is working from the bottom. Bravo is looking to stand up but Elsom isn't so interested in that idea. Bravo is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bravo had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Elsom is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Bravo Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Elsom's back instead. Elsom trying to control the hands but Bravo breaks the grip. Elsom rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Elsom wants to control but Bravo is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Bravo shoots and misses and Elsom counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bravo's guard now. Bravo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Elsom stops Bravo from standing up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Elsom's corner is telling him to maintain position. Bravo is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Bravo keeping moving, preventing Elsom from controlling successfully. Elsom decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Elsom moves into the clinch. Elsom has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Bravo clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Bravo tries to break free.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Elsom has good solid back control here. Bravo is trying to stand back up. Bravo is keeping busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Bravo rolls, trying to escape but Elsom keeps control of the position.

Bravo takes a big shot to the side of the head.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Elsom. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rocky Elsom dominated that second round. That's time! Elsom's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Elsom shoots in and bounces Bravo off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Elsom scoring with some ground and pound. Bravo is looking for a triangle but Elsom pushes his legs off easily.
Bravo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Bravo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bravo tries to kick Elsom off in order to stand up. Elsom Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Bravo taking punishment in the form of punches.
Rocky Elsom overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Bravo is pushing Elsom's head away, looking to escape. Elsom manages to hold on to the position though. Elsom working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Elsom controlling from side mount. Bravo is looking for a sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Elsom lands a decent elbow from side control. Elsom wants to control but Bravo is keeping him busy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Elsom landing a few strikes. Bravo is not content to let Elsom control the position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Bravo shoots and misses and Elsom counters with a nice double leg into guard. Elsom won't allow Bravo to sweep him here. Elsom sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bravo's guard. Bravo wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Elsom passes to side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bravo can't do much from the bottom here. Elsom remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Bravo gets back to half guard.

Bravo is looking to control Elsom's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bravo avoid being mounted? Elsom is looking for a kimura but Bravo is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Elsom to get the leverage. Bravo looks like he's trying to stand up.
Bravo kicks off Elsom and gets to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Rocky Elsom showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Elsom, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
